Yecenia, a young girl from the Central Valley, of California, works in the agriculture fields during her school breaks. It is difficult work, especially under the different weather conditions, but she knows that she needs to help her family. Work is not what she wants to do, she wants to read books and spend time with her friends. However, as she reflects on the values she’s had instilled in her at a young age, Yecenia is able to see a better future ahead.
